Steady Holiday Bio ~
Steady Holiday is Dre Babinski. Just over a year ago you could find her playing in bands around LA, opening for Fitz and the Tantrums and Fun., and making a record with some friends from Dr. Dog. She enjoyed the sidewoman life, but longed for an outlet of her own, writing and recording in secret, developing a body of work about hidden desire itself.

Her first single as Steady Holiday Your Version of Me was released to immediate praise, garnering 200,000+ streams in a few weeks and catching the attention of Coachella founder Paul Tollett, who added the band to the 2016 festival, where they were a breakout hit. Her debut LP Under the Influence was released in June to glowing praise and a monthlong residency at The Satellite in LA, with audiences and press coverage increasing each week. In September, Steady Holiday opened for Unknown Mortal Orchestra at the Santa Monica Pier; in October she toured with Islands; in November she headlined the Bootleg, and LA Weekly named her the citys Best Solo Artist. So far in 2017 she's toured with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Mitski.

In the wake of the 2016 election Dre wrote and recorded three new songs, each dealing with our new reality in different ways, collected now in the Terror EP. A gorgeous remix and a home recording of a new, hopeful song round it out and light the way forward. Featuring Josh Adams (Jenny Lewis) and produced by Gus Seyffert (The Black Keys, Beck), the Terror EP was released by Infinite Best (Mr Twin Sister, Islands) on April 7th and celebrated with a sold out release party at Resident LA.

Over the course of five albums, French artist Colleens (aka Ccile Schott) musical repertoire has featured baroque instruments like the viola de gamba as well as modified music boxes and wind chimes, as she has pushed the boundaries of their playability. Using effects pedals and dub influences, Colleen powerfully blends the mythic, organic, and internal to weave and create intricate music about the human mind and heart.

Santos Orellana Presents: Catracholandia (movie)
Monday, May 8, 2017
Doors 6:30pm / Show 7pm

CATRACHOLANDIA is an intimate, raw, and emotional documentary following an immigrant artist returning to his country of origin, Honduras, to paint murals for orphanages. This minimalistic road trip takes us to a land ruled by greedy cartels where most children are left with only three options: join, migrate, or die.

Movie link: https://catracholandiathemovie.com

Directors Statement:

In march of 2015 I travelled to my country of origin with the intent to paint murals in various orphanages in Honduras. Basically I wanted to bring a little bit of joy to the children even if it was just for a couple of days.
Going into the project I was unable to establish contact with any orphanages by email so I was not very confident that it would work but I was very hopeful that visiting the locations in person would make a difference.
The expedition was an absolute success because I was able to paint at 3 locations spread out throughout the country. I normally capture video and photography of my art projects but something else happened on this trip. As always I started to get to know the people and as always they were very trusting of me and began to share their personal stories.

Because I had enough gear I decided to capture and record interviews of anyone and everyone that would talk to me. As the idea developed I started to realize that it was now imperative for me to see this through and to express it to the largest audience possible.

The documentary film is entitled Catracholandia because the people of Honduras are known as Catrachos and our country has been known as one of pure natural beauty.
