After receiving their blessing from Los Tigres Del Norte, East L.A. badasses Thee Commons metamorphosed into new stage outfit Tropa Magica. Still consisting of the chunster Pacheco brothers and their signature psychedelic cumbia fusion, Tropa Magica boasts a troop of new magical sounds, now having added a second guitar and organ keys to their repertoire. Tropa Magica will make their grand debut but welcomed return to Downtown L.A. in March. From there, with most of the year ahead of them, and given their successful track record, the tropical skys the limit.

In the crowded scene of Tuareg guitarists, Mdou Moctar stands apart from his peers. Playing in the repertoire of desert guitar popularized by groups like Tinariwen and Bombino, Mdou is pushing the boundaries of the genre with a unique personal sound. With versatile compositions and genre defying albums, Mdous music has been an underground success with an international following, set on redefining the sound of the desert.

Mdou Moctar hails from a small village in the Azawagh desert of Niger, a remote region steeped in religious tradition. As a child, he taught himself to play the a homemade guitars, cobbled together out of planks of wood. It was years later before he found a real guitar, teaching himself in secret. In an area where guitar music was all but prohibited, he quickly rose to the status of local celebrity amongst the village youth.

About Sun Araw:
Cameron Stallones, better known by his alias Sun Araw, is an American musician. Previously a member of the band Magic Lantern, he has released several albums of experimental music, including a collaboration with Jamaican reggae group The Congos. He has also worked as part of the Not Not Fun label 'supergroup' Vibes.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Stallones now resides in Long Beach, California.[3] Stallones was associated with the Not Not Fun label, and released his debut album, The Phynx, in 2008.[1] This was followed later that year with Beach Head.[4] He has been prolific since then with three albums released in 2010 and two in 2011. Stallones also collaborated with Pocahaunted on the Passage album.[1]

Stallones set up his Sun Ark studio in his Long Beach home, where he records most of his music.

His 2012 collaboration with M. Geddes Gengras and The Congos Icon Give Thank reached number seven on the Billboard Top World Albums chart.[5] Sun Araw and The Congos also performed live together.

About Professor Terrazas:
Wilfrido Terrazas (Camargo, 1974) is a Mexican flutist whose career spans 27 years of performance, commissioning, collaboration, improvisation, composition and pedagogy. His recent work has been focused on finding points of convergence between notated and improvised music, and in exploring innovative approaches to collaboration and collective creation. He is a founding member and Herald of the Mexico City-based improvisation collective Generacin Espontnea since 2006. As an interpreter, Wilfrido has performed over 330 world premieres, and has been a member of Liminar ensemble since 2012. As a composer, his main interest is the exploration of dialogues between composition, improvisation and performance. As such, he has written over 40 works for diverse instrumental forces. Other current projects include Filera, Escudo (Torre), and the Wilfrido Terrazas Sea Quintet. Since 2014, Wilfrido has been co-curator of La Semana de Improvisacin La Covacha, a week-long festival dedicated to improvised music in Ensenada.

Fred Beckey is the original American Dirtbag climber whose name has evoked mystery, adulation and vitriol since the 1940s. Beckeys stubborn, singular quest to conquer peaks meant a solitary life on the road, where he left a long trail of scorned climbing partners and lost lovers in his wake.

The groundbreaking life story of this rebel athlete, who inspired generations with his monumental first ascents, eloquent books and the lifestyle he fearlessly pioneered, is told for the first time in this exclusive documentary film. There is only one Fred Beckey. His legacy in the mountains will live on forever.

Miami rapper Sylvan LaCue, formerly known as Quest, has been steadily building a loyal fan-base over the years with unparalleled skills on the mic, a forward-thinking sound, and a humble perspective. LaCue left his first major mark on the music industry with the Searching Sylvan mixtape in the fall of 2014. The project was widely regarded as one of the best narratives to be told in rap that year, receiving praise from HotNewHipHop, Huffington Post, Complex, XXL and more. SS touched on everything from LaCue's financial struggles and family battles to the rap game and the start of a new love. LaCue recently dropped 'Apologies in Advance', with his breakout single "Best Me" leading the way.

from the Latino musical culture. Taking their cues from traditional "roots" music of Colombia, Haiti, Belize, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Buyepongo create a very vibrant polyrhythmic sound by seamlessly fusing merengue, punta, and cumbia. The group's pulse and power is built around the drum and guacharaca (pronounced: wah cha rah ca) giving them an upbeat tropical flare.

Anomalie is the live electronic project of Nicolas Dupuis, a classically trained and highly versatile keyboardist and producer based in Montreal. Anomalie made his debut on Gramatiks Lowtemp label with his single Odysse in April of 2016.
After playing as Gramatiks keyboard player on his Epigram live tour for a year, he soon after released his debut EP, Mtropole, which garnered close to 5M hits through performance videos of the tracks and streaming platforms.
Building off his growing worldwide fanbase, Anomalie is now touring with Anomalie Live, a 4-piece live band where his music comes to life on stage with energy-driven arrangements and original interpretations of his recorded music.
